About me
Hi! I'm Dylan :)
A platform software architect currently working in Denver CO. While I have many interests and hobbies relating to music, model-building and design, this current site is dedicated specifically to my software related endeavors.
Those who know me, know that I have been obsessed with making all sorts of things ever since I was born, and since I like creating in so many different fields, I figured it was probably time that I shared all these various projects online.
My current claim to fame (if you can call it that), is the relatively popular STORM React Diagrams library which provides a capable diagramming library designed to be easy to use, but both powerful and extensible at its core.
I have been working in the industry for over 13 years and have built everything from graphics libraries in c++, to custom 3D game engines for the web, robotic control software, highly capable IDE frameworks, campus wide POS and financial systems, low-level driver software and very recently an extremely capable visual programming language that is platform and architecture agnostic.
I have a love for software that is highly modular, pluggable and extensible at its core. Everything I build is designed with libraries in mind, with customizability always at the center. I believe that all software systems should be reconfigurable and (re)programmable without needing to be forked, and should be composed of elegant 'lego-like' pieces that can be reconfigured and assembled to create entire new solutions to complex problems.
While I am a big fan of the 'power user', I also make sure that everything I build and design is beautiful to look at, and intuitive to use. Powerful UX design which can appeal to all levels of proficiency: is and always will be a large part of all my projects. I hope you find something interesting here, and make sure to also check out my blog for all my other mixed media-projects: mechafox.net. I build cool-looking Gundams and make interesting electronic music for a dystopian future: https://soundcloud.com/mechafox
